Gotta agree with Bearcat…this was presented so concisely I was nearly able to grasp it the first time around. Was able to work the technique into a Cm progression I been working on immediately. Thanks Sol.

It is amazing the talent that is out there. From what I see it appears that long fingers make it a lot easier to play and play as well as some do. I would suggest( as a frustrated older trying to learn to play guy ) learn early, practice often before the fingers start getting arthritis thus limiting the quick moves this guy and Claude has.

Sol is an awesome player at such a tender age , I’ve seen him live in Jake Owen’s band last spring and that was the final bump to get me buying Chicken-Picken and I’ll check into this other video too . just the first couple lessons made a big difference in facing my inner hillbilly from that video with the last one .

This kid is really amazing. Some good information here. Sounds like he really knows what he is doing. This CD MAY be something worth looking into — that is, if he is able to explain where and how to put his ideas into a solo that works. That seems to be one of the biggest problem with teaching CD — they give you lots of tricks and licks, but don’t show you how to put them into a solo that works.

I noticed your pinky finger hangs down when your paying blues leads. I’ve played for many years & that has always been an issue for me. I think it’s just the way I was taught by my uncle way back in the 60′s.It stuck with me for all these years and has been a bad habit. However,it doesn’t seem to affect your awesome abilities to master the blues. That is my back ground,being from the suburbs of Chigago.I am a feel player, and when I want to express my self,3 fingers does just fine for me sa well.It’s during more mechanical playing ,when it becomes a cures.Bad habits are hard to break.
